She wanted to know how a mammoth and an elephant could be different — and that single bedtime question grew into Lina’s journey all the way back to the Ice Age to find out. The story ## What it's about When Lina wonders what makes mammoths so different from elephants, her little toy elephant Toto opens his eyes — with an extraordinary answer. Swept up in a swirl of bedtime magic, Lina travels all the way back to the Ice Age. There she meets Momo, a gentle woolly mammoth with shaggy fur, great curved tusks and an enormous heart — and discovers that the biggest adventures often begin with a simple question. ### *“For every little question‑asker who looks at the world and wonders, ‘But why?”* A look inside ## Peek between the pages ![Story text: at bedtime in her Jura-mountains home, Lina wonders aloud why mammoths were so different from elephants — then her toy elephant Toto blinks to life.](https://148756376.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/148756376/hubfs/page4.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=page4.webp) ![Lina tucked up in bed at night smiling at her toy elephant Toto, snowy mountains through the window](https://148756376.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/148756376/hubfs/page5.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=page5.webp) ![Story text: Toto conjures golden lights and tells Lina to hold his ear; the room swirls and they travel back through time, arriving somewhere bright and cold.](https://148756376.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/148756376/hubfs/page8.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=page8.webp) ![Golden magic swirling around Lina and Toto in her bedroom as their time-travel begins](https://148756376.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/148756376/hubfs/page9.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=page9.webp) ![Story text: Lina meets Momo the mammoth, who explains that mammoths and elephants are cousins — he simply comes from the Ice Age, an "old cousin."](https://148756376.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/148756376/hubfs/page14.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=page14.webp) ![Lina in a pink coat and Toto meeting Momo the woolly mammoth on a snowy Ice Age plain](https://148756376.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/148756376/hubfs/page15.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=page15.webp) ![](//7528302.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7528302/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/slider-light-image.jpg) Gently, it's about ## More than a bedtime story #### **Curiosity & big questions** • **A peek at the Ice Age** • **Kindness & gentle hearts** • **Cosy bedtime magic** Kind words ## What readers say ★★★★★ **Mammoth facts** “Another sweet story in the series, not only a lovely bedtime story but also great to learn a few facts about mammoths.” — Amazon reviewer  More to read  ## The rest of the series ![Cover of Lina and the Rapa Nui Treasure Hunt by Jack d’Bourg, featuring Lina, Toto, Tavake and seven moai at sunset.](https://jackdbourg.com/hs-fs/hubfs/en_cover_Lina_and_the_Rapa_Nui_Treasure_Hunt.webp?width=1080&height=1080&name=en_cover_Lina_and_the_Rapa_Nui_Treasure_Hunt.webp) ### Lina and the Rapa Nui Treasure Hunt A magical island adventure about curiosity, kindness and discovering that some treasures are best left where they belong.
